Frustrated Network Marketer–When The Hill Grows

Life is full of ups and downs, achievements and disappointments, successes and failures, joys and sadness.  In life there are no easy paths that lead to a perfect life where all is bliss and happiness all the time.  Along the path of life there are obstacles you will encounter and decisions to be made.  Frustrated network marketer – when the hill grows into a mountain what will you do?

There will be times when life delivers us a new challenge and the hill becomes a mountain.  It will be up to us to decide whether we accept the challenge or walk away.  How we handle a challenge will determine whether we will be successful or fail. The key is in your decision. The choice is yours alone. If a path of failure and disappointment is chosen there is no one to blame but you.

I know a network marketer who has been up to the challenge a number of years now.  You see the network marketing company she is with is not in her country but to her that does not matter.  Yes there are challenges but because it is what she wanted to do so she chose the path of success.  The company was a perfect fit for her so she accepted the challenges that she knew would be difficult but the road to success was in her view.  To her the decision that if she could not build her business in her country she would build it in countries that the network company was in was a decision she HAD to make.  She is successful now and in the near future she will have achieved her goals and be living her dreams.  She is an inspiration to those that know her and will be so to many many more.

Recently two network companies merged and with the merger both companies have gained expertise that they were lacking and in fact the new entity has increased in strength and expertise.  A move that was beneficial to both companies and the distributors.  New products introduced which means a learning experience for those that have not been introduced to these products before  and different selling techniques.  One of the unfortunate turns of events is that the company is not in all the countries that the merging company was in creating  new challenges for some of the distributors in those countries.  But for those that seek to achieve their dreams and goals they will find a way around or over the mountain that has obstructed their path.

How we deal with these mountains will determine whether we need to take a different path or continue on the path we are on and face the new challenge.  We need to remember that we are business people and need to make  decisions based on a business point of view and not on an emotional one.  Emotions tend to cloud your vision and give way to negative emotions if the situation does not follow the path we had set.  Stephen R. Covey in his book “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective people” came upon a revelation and quoted it in his book.  “There is a gap or space between stimuli and response”.  The gap is the time you will have to make a decision to respond to the stimuli and the outcome will depend upon your decision.  Depending what the decision is, you will need to use the right criteria to make your decision and in business basing your decision upon an emotional response will lead down the path of negativity when in reality the situation you are cast into may be the best situation for you.

Frustrated Network Marketer–When The Hill Grows into that mountain that seems too high what will you do?  What will you do in that gap between stimuli and response?  I can only encourage you to make your decision based upon the right criteria and what is best for you.

Successful Network Marketing–Knowing How To Analyze An Opportunity BEFORE Spending a Dime

To be successful network marketing – knowing how to analyze an opportunity BEFORE spending a dime will save you years of struggle, frustration and starting from scratch over and over again.  On the other hand, if you have already signed on the dotted line with a company and are struggling to create that income from home as an online network marketer, I strongly suggest and recommend that you find a mentor with a servant’s heart to help you look at the opportunity you are currently in to see where there can be some improvements made. Usually it is just a matter of learning some skills, a network marketing education if you will.

How many times have you started a network marketing company, only to find frustration with the duplicable system, the upline support is next to zero or non existent and the compensation plan just does not add up as you were shown in the presentation?

How many times have you been burned? That’s right. You thought you saw the light at the end of the tunnel; had an organization of twenty, thirty or even hundreds in your downline when…BAM! Something turned it off. You found yourself holding the bag. Sound familiar? Perhaps you were terminated without cause, the company went out of business or changed it’s business model from MLM to direct sales.  Heaven forbid the company may  decided that it does not need  sales reps at all of any kind, direct or MLM distributors.  What happens then?

My hope would be that you would determine just how much of a risk the company you are thinking of joining will be before you join.  But if you find that you skipped that step and are in a company now,  there is still a way to determine how much you are risking by  using the 5 Pillars technology. Once you read the book Success in10 Steps written by Michael Dlouhy you will, when finished the free training course,  have an equivalent of a University degree in Network Marketing.

You will learn:

  • How to avoid scams that are masked as legitimate MLM Companies and turn out to be pyramid schemes
  • What is the best compensation plan?
  • What is the best system for duplication?
  • What is the best MLM company for YOU?
  • What to say and when to say it.

Just imagine how you would feel if you were NEVER scammed again, could finally create a residual walk away  income of 10K a month or even more and could finally say I have found a company that I can call HOME.

Just what is your desired income, perhaps an extra $500 a month is good enough for you?  Will your Policies and Procedures as well as your compensation plan allow you to retire and/or will your business to your heirs.

The Policies and Procedures will in most cases indicate that you can retire or leave your residual income to your heirs; succession. But, have you read them close enough to know that there may be qualifications that MUST be met by your heirs, or even qualifications that may prevent you from ever retiring.  Oh you can retire whenever you wish, but in most contracts in MLM if you decide to retire and do not caring on with your training responsibilities and your team building responsibilities; you will no longer be eligible to receive YOUR residual income that YOU created.  Making it impossible for you to retire and take a vacation when you want if you still want to receive that residual income that you worked so hard for.  This income, if you choose to walk away from a contract written like this will now roll right back to the company. OUCH!!

Read your PnPs for your self.  Look for words such as “ongoing” training, responsibilities, succession. What do your heirs have to do to qualify to receive what you have willed to them in your last will and testament?  How will your heirs feel when they realize that in order for them to receive what you have willed to them, they MUST sign up as a distributor and perform all the same duties that you do now?… Recruiting, selling, pitching your deal, training your downline.

You can  put any company to the 5 Pillars test.  Using the 5 qualifications listed in the 5 Pillars qualifying technology that will allow you to determine what your chances of success and or failure will be with any company.  You can find out what the 5 Pillars technology is by contacting us and we would be honoured to explain this important tool for evaluating a business opportunity.

What would have happened if you had the ability to properly analyze an opportunity before you decide to spend a dime? If that sounds like what you want, then give us a call and we would be honoured to share with you what we have learned over the past few years.

MLM LAWSUITS Max and Melaleuca – Part 1

Why is it that we are so naive to believe that a network marketing company would never take their own distributors to court? Every time I turn around I have an email from MLM Watchdog, Rod Cook of  mlmwatchdog  warning of another lawsuit that has been  filed, this time Max and Melaleuca.  Either a network marketing company is suing another network marketing company or a company is suing their own distributors.

How to Provide a Successful Network Marketing Atmosphere for Distributors?  Stop taking your distributors to court and …

But hey the distributors would know that this could happen at the company’s sole discretion if they had read their policies and procedures.  The distributor would have realized that the company can do anything they want; terminate you, file lawsuits against you for things like using the company name in promotions or telling the world on Facebook that you are an employee of [xyz] company when indeed you are not.  What you are is an independent distributor or contractor in violation of your contract.

Just last week, February 21/ 2011 I received email notification from Rod Cook that Max International had to pay out to Melaleuca $1.2 Million. Read here

Max International is a Utah based MLM company which has now agreed to pay $1.2 million to  Melaleuca, of Idaho which was to settle a lawsuit filed in 2009.  What was the lawsuit all about or the allegations?  Max International distributors recruited Melaleuca reps and compelled them to breach their contracts.

This is one thing that most would know…lawsuits are very ugly and unwelcomed. However there are some very valuable lessons that can be learned from them.

Lesson 1:

Why on earth would anyone want to be associated with a company that is so focused on  “irritating, crushing” and “stomping out”  the competition,  than being in a company that is intent on “standing up” and “championing” their own distributors.

It is never in anyone’s best interest to  join a company that delights in legal bickering and back biting.

Investigate  the company’s track record to see for YOURSELF how often they have been involved in lawsuits, especially those involving their own  distributors.

It’s one thing to engage other companies looking to protect the establishment of the company and reps – a whole different ballgame to be at odds and constantly in litigation with  the most important people of the organization and the survival of the company, YOU the distributors.

Just think if there were less legal battles there would be more in the compensation plan for you.  Yup every legal battle takes away from money the company could be sharing with you.  Someone has to pay the $1.2 million that Max International owes Melaleuca.

Lesson 2: to follow in Part 2

Go ahead read the  laundry list of lawsuits here: who knows you may  just turn up something you didn’t know.

INTEGRITY of the Network Marketing Industry Scam

Integrity is a word that we as network marketers hear all the time.    We hear this statement repeatedly…”My company has integrity.” or my “Management  Team has integrity.” Perhaps you have been asked what the integrity of your company is  by your prospect?  The same old answer is this.  “Oh yes, my company and the management team are excellent.  They sold their Widget company for 300 million dollars and have now come out of retirement to lead our network marketing company; Banana Bonanza Juice. He is a family guy with 3 children and a wife who adores him.”

When building an online home based business, Integrity is a MUST for success.  So just wait right there.  For those who are about to jump on me and say that this is not the only thing required for online success, you are correct, it is not, but it is a MUST!!!

We individually have integrity or we do not.  Network marketing companies  either have it or they don’t.  Integrity defines us as humans and as companies. It tells others a lot about us right up front.    Simply put, integrity is behaving in secret just as you would if the whole world were watching.   Be honest with others and of most importance with yourself; do what we say we are going to do and believe in what we say we believe in.   Integrity means that you adhere to moral conviction, or code of honour, that won’t allow you to do certain things that you feel would corrupt you.

Network Marketing companies, are comprised by it’s very nature of individuals. I am sure that most would agree that not everyone is overflowing with integrity (company  management teams as well).  Sure the network marketing company ad campaigns were meant to portray integrity and probably that is what their true intentions were. However as these companies grow and make money sometimes that causes GREED and EGO to take over management; integrity is forfeited for the almighty dollar.

You just have to listen to the complaints of the distributors or do a little in-depth research on line and you can see how much integrity the leader/s of a company has.  As Dr. Phil says “Past history is a good indicator of  future behaviour.” Once a con-man…well perhaps, just perhaps always a con-man.

Case in point , Alan Kippax and Business In Motion.

Shyam Sundar, a journalist his whole life, has been waging a battle against pyramid scams and money circulation schemes.  Visit his blog Corporate Frauds Watch.

Mr. Alan Kippax, who induced ‘BIM,’ stole  millions of dollars from thousands of mis-informed Canadian and UK  citizens during  two decades of terror as a con-man.  Network Marketing Leader in disguise. Using correlated cunning techniques of psychological and social   manipulation with the hopes of overwhelming  the members with guilt that would hinder them  from going to the authorities.

Source: Bob and Anna Bassett

Alan Kippax is just one of the  not so shining example of someone who thousands thought was an upstanding citizen, business owner and man of integrity.  There are many more perhaps not as ruthless or narcissistic, but may not be leading and managing the network marketing companies that we are involved in with integrity. How do we know if the company we are with is actually a company of Integrity? Check this out…are the actions of the management apparent or is it all talk and no action. In order to do our due diligence we have to listen to what the management is saying, observe what they are doing and ask questions.  If you can not get answers to your questions and concerns, this should be cause for some concern on your part.

There is a group of  leaders who have become involved with an organization who are working on bring integrity back to the place of most importance in this Network Marketing Industry.

Just as we came to Network Marketing because we understood the effects of leveraging off the efforts of others, so can we use that same concept to bring about this revolution.  It starts with you and I making the commitment to be the example, teaching it to our business partners and expecting it of our leaders.  A ‘leader’ who lacks Integrity will NOT lead for long.

Moral courage and character go hand in hand… a man of real character is consistently courageous, being imbued with a basic integrity and a firm sense of principle. ~ Martha Boaz

Judgment Against Famed Felon Barry Minkow of $584 Million

Why do humans get caught up in scams? Mainly because we believe in other humans that they would never knowingly hurt another.  The reason we get hoodwinked is because the con-artists are just that…experts.  They are expert cons.  A judgment against famed felon Barry Minkow of $584 Million was entered in the courts June 1/11.  Minkow is scheduled to be sentenced on July 7 after pleading guilty to a federal charge of manipulating Lennar’s stock.

Barry Minkow, network marketing con who prayed on the industry and then moved on to prey upon his own church, is one of those experts.  Who was repeatedly caught with his hands in the cookie jar.  Which leads to another question.  Why was he allowed to prey on others after he was caught the first time?

I really don’t have the answer to that, but I can share with you the down side of network marketing and the importance of thoroughly doing research on those leaders in the network marketing company you plan to join.  As you will learn from Barry Minkow, it is easy to be fooled.  Don’t believe everything you hear…research yourself and follow the bread crumbs you will eventually find the good, the bad or the ugly about the leadership.

Please allow me to share this news article by Al Lewis.  You decide if Minkow is a person you would want to be at the helm of your MLM company. There are lots more like him who are running MLM companies and conning trusting people like you and me.

Home-building company Lennar Corp. (LEN) has won a $584 million judgment against convicted felon Barry Minkow, who is likely to be headed to prison yet again.

Minkow is slated to be sentenced on July 7 after pleading guilty to a federal charge of manipulating Lennar’s stock.

The stipulated judgment that Lennar won was entered on June 1 in the Circuit Court for the 11th Judicial District in Miami, Fla.Lennar had sued Minkow and California developer Nicolas Marsch for extortion and defamation.

Minkow declined comment. Lennar didn’t return messages.

Marsch had several business disputes with Lennar and hired Minkow, a self- styled fraud investigator, to smear Lennar, according to the judgment.

“In and around November 2008, the Minkow Defendants entered into an agreement with the Marsch Defendants to extort Lennar,” the judgment said under the heading “stipulated facts.”

The defendants also “agreed to manipulate the public securities markets to harm the Lennar Plaintiffs’ business,” the document said.

In January 2009, Minkow likened Lennar to Enron and called it a “financial crime in progress” in a press release and online. His efforts drove down the price of Lennar stock by more than 20%. But Minkow has since stipulated in court that his statements were false and malicious.

The half-billion-plus judgment marks another turn in the career of a renowned con-man.

Minkow, now 44, was sentenced at age 23 for the text-book case fraud known as the ZZZZ Best Co., a carpet-cleaning company that he took public.

Minkow had claimed a net worth of $90 million, drove a red Ferrari with a ” ZZZZ BEST” license plate and appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show as a Wall Street wunderkind.

When ZZZZ Best was exposed as a massive Ponzi scheme, Minkow was sentenced to prison for nearly eight years.

Following his release, he earned a master’s degree in divinity from Jerry Falwell’s Liberty University. Then he became pastor of Community Bible Church in San Diego, Calif.

He also became a corporate-fraud investigator, establishing the “Fraud Discovery Institute,” where he uncovered instances of deceit at publicly traded companies and investigated Ponzi schemes.

For several years, he was an informant for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and a tipster to journalists. Members of his church have said they found his story of transformation inspiring. He was also working on an unreleased movie about his rehabilitative journey from convicted conman to minister and fraud detector, called “Minkow.”
