Frustrated Network Marketer–When The Hill Grows

Life is full of ups and downs, achievements and disappointments, successes and failures, joys and sadness.  In life there are no easy paths that lead to a perfect life where all is bliss and happiness all the time.  Along the path of life there are obstacles you will encounter and decisions to be made.  Frustrated network marketer – when the hill grows into a mountain what will you do?

There will be times when life delivers us a new challenge and the hill becomes a mountain.  It will be up to us to decide whether we accept the challenge or walk away.  How we handle a challenge will determine whether we will be successful or fail. The key is in your decision. The choice is yours alone. If a path of failure and disappointment is chosen there is no one to blame but you.

I know a network marketer who has been up to the challenge a number of years now.  You see the network marketing company she is with is not in her country but to her that does not matter.  Yes there are challenges but because it is what she wanted to do so she chose the path of success.  The company was a perfect fit for her so she accepted the challenges that she knew would be difficult but the road to success was in her view.  To her the decision that if she could not build her business in her country she would build it in countries that the network company was in was a decision she HAD to make.  She is successful now and in the near future she will have achieved her goals and be living her dreams.  She is an inspiration to those that know her and will be so to many many more.

Recently two network companies merged and with the merger both companies have gained expertise that they were lacking and in fact the new entity has increased in strength and expertise.  A move that was beneficial to both companies and the distributors.  New products introduced which means a learning experience for those that have not been introduced to these products before  and different selling techniques.  One of the unfortunate turns of events is that the company is not in all the countries that the merging company was in creating  new challenges for some of the distributors in those countries.  But for those that seek to achieve their dreams and goals they will find a way around or over the mountain that has obstructed their path.

How we deal with these mountains will determine whether we need to take a different path or continue on the path we are on and face the new challenge.  We need to remember that we are business people and need to make  decisions based on a business point of view and not on an emotional one.  Emotions tend to cloud your vision and give way to negative emotions if the situation does not follow the path we had set.  Stephen R. Covey in his book “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective people” came upon a revelation and quoted it in his book.  “There is a gap or space between stimuli and response”.  The gap is the time you will have to make a decision to respond to the stimuli and the outcome will depend upon your decision.  Depending what the decision is, you will need to use the right criteria to make your decision and in business basing your decision upon an emotional response will lead down the path of negativity when in reality the situation you are cast into may be the best situation for you.

Frustrated Network Marketer–When The Hill Grows into that mountain that seems too high what will you do?  What will you do in that gap between stimuli and response?  I can only encourage you to make your decision based upon the right criteria and what is best for you.

Are You Planting, Cultivating and Harvesting the Right Seed for MLM Success?

Perhaps this story will help us all realize that in order to harvest success; seeds for success have to be sown.

A man wanted to make an investment. An idea struck him: “Why don’t I plant a small mango sapling and enjoy the benefits when it grows into a big tree?” So he went to the market, bought a small sapling and took it home. To the pride of his family, he planted it in the center of his garden.

He read everything about raising a mango tree. He got up early every morning, for he was determined to supply the sapling with all the necessary nutrients. He watered it, he supplied it with manure, and he took good care of its leaves by removing those that withered. He made sure the sapling received ample care.

Many times he sat and admired the beauty of the growing tree while dreaming about the tasty mangoes that the tree would bear. His mind was always filled with the wish to taste the first fruit of the tree.

imageYears rolled by… now, he had a big tree… glorious… with its leaves shining and healthy, its bark healthy and hard. It was a big attraction because it decorated his whole garden.

Then one day he noticed a small bud, which in a couple of days bloomed into a beautiful flower. Now he could hardly wait for the fruit so he started to increase his supply of nutrients and care. Then one day the tree let out its first product – a small green fruit. The man was so happy.

He waited for a few more weeks till the fruit grew in size. The day came when he decided to taste the first fruit of the tree. He climbed the tree, plucked the fruit and then came his disappointment. The fruit that he plucked from the tree was not like what he expected. It was hard, big and round. He was baffled. He was sad.

Seeing this, his neighbours came and asked him what happened. He told them that the fruit from his tree was not what he wanted. When the neighbours heard this, they did not know whether to laugh or console him for what he planted years ago was a guava sapling.

If success in life and business is the goal, than sowing, cultivating and harvesting the RIGHT seed is crucial.  Success will never be what we get if we first of all do not plant in the right field, sow the right seed for what we expect to harvest, and then harvest.

Divide and conquer does not work in MLM. You have to choose just one opportunity and work it.  Don’t let your focus become drawn away by other “stuff”; other opportunities. I know that many opportunities are being promoted as multiple streams of income. A lot of time and money is wasted on dividing focus in these business opportunities.

Now if you are in just one opportunity and are not finding success even after sowing success seeds, your lack of success in not your fault.  It may just be a lack of training, education and skills or mentoring.

All those who have succeeded in business will tell you that they had a mentor to coach them and to help them focus their desire. They found a coach that could mentor them to be champions in their field of focus such as swimming.  They didn’t find a coach to help them who coached football.

So decide to sow and cultivate the right seed, of which you expect to reap rewards, then harvest…and keep your focus even when other seeds are enticing and distracting.

Frustrated Network Marketer–What Are You Leading Your Presentation With…?

You have the meeting room booked, the time set, the invitations sent and your working on the presentation for your network marketing business.  That’s the hard part…Frustrated Network Marketer–What Are You Leading Your Presentation With…?

If you lead your presentation with the business opportunity your prospects will begin to wonder what the product or service is.  What is behind the opportunity?  Is there a real product or service?  There has been no mention of a product or service so is this legal?  If there is a product or service I want to know what it is and if I can make money selling them.  Is it a good product or service the public will want to buy?  Leading with the business opportunity will lead your prospect down the path of wondering what they are getting involved with.

You need to remember that all the people you have invited may not be interested in doing the business but they may be interested in buying your product or service.  If you bombard them with the business opportunity and that is of no interest to them at this point you will fall out of rapport with them and they will shut down.  As Tom “Big Al” Schreiter says “they will lean back, cross their arms, pet the dog or call their lawyer.”  Tom may make a joke of this but he knows that is exactly what happens in real life.  Beginning your opportunity meeting with recruiting in mind will often lead to disaster and disappointment.

Leading your opportunity meeting with the product or service shows the prospects up front what you and the opportunity are about.  At this point particulars of the compensation plan, company corporate team and the terms or conditions of a distributor are of no interest to the prospects.  Learning a little of the products and services and hearing a few testimonials about the product or services is all that is needed to get them interested to learn more.  At this point you may want to mention there is a business opportunity available and those interested can remain after the meeting to learn more.  Those at the meeting will not feel obligated to remain if all they are interested in is the products or services.  Having a meeting where there is no pressure on the prospects will bring more success and no one feels pressured into anything they are not really interested in.

tomlydTom “Big Al” Schreiter will tell you that as a prospect feels pressure their salesman alarm activates and they will look for every reason not to buy your products or services or even join the business opportunity.  You have stepped over the line and no matter what you say they will not buy or join.

Keeping your presentation simple, pressure free, short and to the point shows you have respect for the prospect and the time they have invested in coming to your business presentation.  How would you feel going to a business presentation that was a couple of hours long?  Does boring come to mind? And would you have the time to do so with your busy schedule.

Frustrated Network Marketer–What Are You Leading Your Presentation With…?  Remember to lead with the products or service, keep it short, have testimonials, mention there is a business opportunity and to remain after to learn more, no pressure on the prospects (also means less pressure on you) and after the presentation sit back and take the volunteers.
