Frustrated Network Marketer-Can We Really Trust Our Upline To Teach Us Skills

Kenny Brooks is the funniest Door-to-Door Salesman.. This clip is a lot more than just training, Kenny practiced and became proficient at what he does. He left us rolling on the floor!  

Kenny’s rambling and quick whit will keep entertained, but we sure hope you will see where practicing your MLM skills will take you.  I think he could have chattered on and on without ever coming up for air.   Kenny says that, “I had to write it, edit it, and practise it until I had it smooth enough to take to the street.  Hours and hours of dedication and preparation.  Hours and hours of creative practice in front of the mirror, tape recorders, willing friends and family and family pets before I rang the first doorbell.”

How many times have you heard from your upline to “ just wing it”? Our upline never tells us what to say or what to do.  This is exactly what we need to know.  We can not just go mumble and hope that something meaningful will come out of our mouths when talking with a prospect.  Without proper skills we do something like this.  Stand up to speak to our prospects and our mind sits right back down.  We are speechless and feel like a total loser.  Kenny prepared and Kenny practised.

Just imagine for a moment what kind of success we could experience in our business if we just took a little time and put  a little effort into learning and practicing skills. Why not put  a few of those hours into learning what to say and what to do in your network marketing business?

Scripts don’t work, but Tom Schreiter’s Magic Sequences of Words are magical and will have you looking like a professional in no time.

Here is a scenario of how a conversation might go with a prospect

  1. What do you like to do in your free time?
  2. Do you get to do this as much as you would like?
  3. Have you ever considered doing something about it?
  4. I can give you a complete presentation, but it will take 60 seconds.
  5. When could you set aside 60 seconds?

That should be a very smooth conversation that you could start with any prospect.  It you have noticed in life no one seems to have enough time to do what they really want to do.

Recently we have had the honour of meeting a struggling network marketer, Stephen Ray Porter…professional trial lawyer by day, network marketer by night.  He is a very successful lawyer but failed in network marketing for thirty-four years.  He never lost hope and felt that there had to be a way to do this right.  And he did find out what he was missing in his online business.  SKILLS…knowing what to say and what to do.

By learning just a few skills and using them enough that they become second nature, anyone can become unstoppable and can have a lot of fun in the process.  When there is no rejection and business partners are having fun and enjoying themselves, everyone looks forward to speaking with new people and the business continues to grow. 

I now know that my business partners will be able to learn the skills that will allow them to enjoy building their network marketing businesses.  Learning the skills and applying the skills is the best cure I know for ‘business paralysis.

    Imagine this…I went 3 1/2 years in Network Marketing before I ever found ANYONE who suggested I learn something besides a script.

  2. Thank you Jennifer Fisher for the comment. And I agree, that video was the most hilarious video I have seen in a very long time. Kenny is really good at what he does, he obviously practiced before venturing out. There was lots to learn from Kenny, what to do and what not to do.

    Luving the High 5’s and Kenny’s delivery!

    Practice, practice, practice. When you learn to relax around people and have fun, more people will want to be around you. Your upline should work with you, to be light, to work light, and to detach from outcomes.

    All stress in communicating with prospects is due to attachment to outcomes. Kenny is detached, and it shows in his fun-loving attitude.

  4. Now that is a great post and full of nuggets this is probably the most important thing you could learn and second would be traffic generation. If you don’t know how to process the traffic it is for nothing anyway.
