Business Email Opportunity Seeker-Success Requires Sacrifices

The going is always hard on the road to greatness. If success were easy, everyone would achieve it. NFL All-Pro lineman Brian Holloway recalled that when he was playing for the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Raiders, there wasn’t a single day when he didn’t feel like giving up because the road was too tough and the sacrifices were too great. He didn’t quit, of course; he was willing to pay the price because he was determined to succeed. True Thoroughbreds never quit. Competition only spurs them, and obstacles merely reinforce their determination to succeed. If you have not yet achieved greatness in your life, it is because you have been willing to settle for less. You may not cross the finish line first every time you try, but if you stay in the race, you will eventually prevail. ~ Napoleon Hill Foundation

Some of us are lead to the water and some of us sip the water of success, while still others take really big gulps of the water. And then one of two things happen.  We stay and continue to drink the water and refresh ourselves fully or we turn and walk the other way, turning our backs on the water that would ultimately quench our thirst for success.  I have seen people do this, take a few sips, wade in a bit deeper and begin to feel that they are quenching their thirst, only to turn their back on fully quenching their thirst.  In reality they gave up three feet from gold. It is a discipline to stay and drink.

Sometimes we have to delay our gratification in the short term as others nudge in to drink as well. Success in Network Marketing is not about making money quickly.  It is about self growth and achieving small successes and building on them one at a time. If someone is successful it is not because of me and if they fail it is not because of me. Success is because of THEM.

The good thing is, that eventually we become thirsty again and the ones that waded out the furthest and took bigger gulps of the quenching waters will again one day remember how good it felt to have some success.  They will realize that life is about taking steps in a forward motion.  Success always leads up.  Take the high road and just keep moving, start over and over and over if you must, but NEVER give up. You may miss the first vein of gold, but keep drilling until you find it again.

  1. Hi Darlene,
    hi Dave,

another thoughful mindset post. I like the analogy with the people led to the water – who will only sip and who will take really big gulps ? The opportunity is the same…what we get out of it makes the difference.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Take care

    Oliver
